The Texas National
Guard had one of its best marksmanship performances at this
year's WPW Competition. For the first time ever, won the over all
marksmanship championship at the 2002 Winston P. Wilson Combat Arms
Competition held at Camp J.T. Robinson in North Little Rock, AR.
The combined scores of rifle, pistol, LMG and Sniper propelled the
Texas team into first place. Texas won a total of 25 individual
and team awards, which contributed measurable to the team's success.
MG
Morrow,
Arkansas Adjutant General (far left) presented the Chief, National
Guard Bureau Trophy for winning the overall competition to MG
Marty, Texas Adjutant General (right of the TX State
flag). MG Marty has been a big supporter of the Texas Marksmanship
Program over the years.
The trophies
and plaques from the winning teams are on display in the Marksmanship
Display Case in Building 8 on Camp Mabry, Austin, TX. |
