New Combat Pistol Range

BASTROP, TX - The
Small Arms Readiness Training Section (SARTS), Texas State Guard
(TXSG) and Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) constructed a
complete combat pistol range on an old out of date pistol range
site located East of the Known Distance Range at Camp Swift.
The
new range is designed to accommodate the combat pistol competition
as well as known distance firing by other branches of the service.
The range can accommodate up to 25 firing points out to 50 yards.
Camp
Swift provided the material and machinery while SARTS, TXSG and TSRA
provided 9 personnel, over a two day drill weekend (5-6 January).
Personnel
included CW4 Tanner, SFC Blackwell, SSG Campbell and SSG Schernik
from SARTS while TXSG provided LTC Tryce, 1/LT Gilmer and 2/lt George
with TSRA represented by Charlie Wallace.
Range support was provided by SPC Donaldson.
